This was a sweet and cute romance, and I enjoyed it from cover to cover. There’s just something about Ellington’s writing style, that pulls you along, even though there isn’t a lot of tension in the story itself. I was hoping from the moment they met that Robert and Isabel would end up together. Getting to see both of their stories just made me more convinced they were made for each other, even though there were a few stumbling blocks in the way of their potential HEA. The story is woven together well, and I enjoyed that it doesn’t solely focus on love/courtship. Getting to see the dynamics with their families/friends, and the complications that can arise when things like expectations are thrown into the mix added a nice depth. If you enjoy sweet historical romances, you’re going to love this one!

I love a happily-ever-after, and Sea Glass and Fireflies doesn’t disappoint. You’ll fall in love with Kate Ellington’s characters and cheerlead for them as the story progresses. She paints a realistic picture of early 20th century life for Elsie and Charles. An entertaining look at love, betrayal, and second chances.

Teacups and Temptations by Kate Ellington is a heartwarming Regency romance that will delight readers from start to finish. Molly Merriwether heads to Waverly Hall hoping for a fun escape with her best friend, but they end up unchaperoned with three intriguing young men—and one in particular catches her eye. Roger Bailey, a reserved and wounded soul, initially keeps his distance, but Molly’s wit and kindness slowly break down his walls.
Ellington does a fabulous job of capturing the chemistry between Molly and Roger. Their relationship has a gentle, realistic build, moving from friendship to something undeniably romantic. Molly’s lively, openhearted nature and Roger’s quiet, guarded demeanor create a tension that makes you root for them. The historical details are nicely done, adding flavor without overcomplicating the story, and Molly’s spirit feels both true to the time period and refreshingly relatable.
For anyone who loves a good Regency romance, Teacups and Temptations is a special treat. It’s a story about taking chances, opening up, and learning to trust, with just the right balance of sweetness and adventure. Ellington’s characters feel real, and their journey together is as endearing as it is engaging. This book is a cozy escape that will leave you smiling.
I loved the characters in this story! Such good character development by the author. And as someone who grew up in NH, I really enjoyed the references to the NH seacoast. A feel good romance, easy to escape in!
